Corrections policy

The record's authority depends on being correctable. If any assertion in a case is wrong, tell us: [email protected]. We acknowledge every message to that address within 7 days.

• Every factual assertion in a case is tiered as documented, inferred, or contested.
• Corrections are made in the case text, dated, and listed in a per-case changelog; nothing is silently edited.
• Entities named in a case may request review at any time and the request itself is noted.
• Right of reply: an organization named in a case may send a response to the same address. A substantive response is published alongside the case, or the case is amended.
• The same rule covers signals: if a published excerpt comes down — because the sender asked, or because we should not have published it — the excerpt goes and a dated note that it went stays. Asking for a report to be removed is described under data and privacy.
• We do not name private individuals.
